Hello! I’m Kristi
Registered Dietitian and Health Coach
As a dietitian and food rules survivor, I know you want to feel confident in your relationship with food and and be free from dieting. In order to do that, you need to understand how we were created to eat – free from diets and using food to soothe.
The problem is, society does not set us up well for this. There is a constant pressure to look a certain way and follow conflicting and unrealistic diets in a fast-paced world. This sets us up to feel like a failure with no willpower and constantly battling emotional eating and guilt.
I believe God created food for our enjoyment and nourishment and that no one should feel powerless (or guilty!) when it comes to eating well. I understand how hopeless it can feel to overcome the pressures of diets, trying to conform to certain body image ideals, and the stress of eating in this current culture.
This is why I help guide you on how to nourish your body the way God intended – diet free – and partner with Him to renew your mind with a healthier relationship with food.

FAQ
Do you take insurance?
I currently do not take insurance, however, for individualized sessions (medical nutrition therapy) you can use an HSA for payment or request a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement if it is a covered service in your plan. This option is for Michigan residents.
Do you see people for eating disorders?
No. If you suspect or have a concern for an eating disorder, is it best to get connected with someone who specializes in this area for the best care. I am happy to refer if you are looking and may refer your care out if an eating disorder is suspected during our time together.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No. Referrals are not necessary but may be helpful if you are planning to submit for reimbursement to your insurance.
How fast should I expect to see results?
With nutrition coaching, no approach is guaranteed and everyone is in a different place in both health and readiness to change. Know that we will work at a pace that you are comfortable with and focus on the best approach to get you there.
Where do you meet with clients?
Sessions are completed virtually via Zoom and clients are offered a secure login for a client platform for communication and document sharing.
What does a session look like?
In our first session, we will explore your health and eating history and set your vision and individualized goals. Subsequent sessions will review wins and challenges, explore new ideas and nutrition topics, and set next goals. Relevant materials and resources will be provided.
What is a Registered Dietitian? Is that different from a nutritionist?
Registered Dietitian’s (also known as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionists [RDNs]), are the nutrition experts. RDNs have to complete a bachelor’s (and Master’s as of 2024) degree in nutrition along with a rigorous internship and registration examination. They then need to complete continuing education (75 CE’s every 5 years) to stay registered. Some states also require licensing to practice.
